Training FAQs

What to expect during the 1.5 hour training sessions?

Our 1.5-hour sessions are built around developing smart, team-oriented basketball. Players can expect a fast-paced environment that blends skill development with real game situations, ensuring everything we do translates directly to competition. From the warm-up through to live play, the focus is on decision-making, communication, and understanding how to play effectively within a team.

A large portion of each session is dedicated to basketball IQ and team concepts—teaching players how to read the game, maintain proper spacing, make the right decisions under pressure, and defend as a unit. Small-sided games and controlled scrimmages give players plenty of opportunities to apply these ideas in competitive settings, with coaching feedback to reinforce learning.

Overall, sessions are highly engaging and purposeful, with minimal downtime and maximum involvement. Players are expected to bring energy, communicate consistently, and embrace a team-first mindset while learning to think the game at a higher level.

What is a Skills Session?

A Skills Session is a high-intensity, small-group training environment designed to accelerate individual player development. These sessions focus on refining core basketball fundamentals while also building advanced game-specific skills tailored to each athlete’s position, strengths, and development goals.

Led by Coach Percy, each session is capped at a maximum of 8 players to ensure every athlete receives detailed instruction, real-time feedback, and meaningful repetitions. This small-group structure allows for a more personalized coaching experience that is difficult to achieve in larger team settings.

Sessions typically emphasize:

  • Ball handling under pressure

  • Shooting mechanics and shot creation

  • Footwork and finishing at the rim

  • Decision-making and basketball IQ

  • Position-specific skill development

These sessions are designed for boys and girls aged 10–17 who already possess a strong foundation in basketball. Due to the advanced pace, intensity, and complexity of drills, participants are expected to have prior playing experience and a solid grasp of fundamental skills.

Skills Sessions are ideal for players who are serious about improving their game, preparing for representative or elite competition, or looking to gain a competitive edge during the season.
